Last Rites For Bert Jones

Funeral services were held Friday, July 5 at 10:30 a.m. from Martin Funeral Home for Bert Jones, 85, Waukon resident who died July 3 in the nursing center in Shell Rock. The Rev. William Tjaden officiated and burial was in the Oakland Cemetery.
Mr. Jones was born Nov. 15, 1888 in Allamakee County and was a son of John and Nancy Steele Jones. He attended local schools and his occupation was farming. He never married. He was the last surviving member of his family. Two brothers, Elam and Ed, and a sister Bessie preceded him in death.
