Waukon, Ia. - Dale L. Van Groven, eight-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Van Groven of nearby Dorchester, Ia., was killed instantly Tuesday when struck by a motorcycle while on his way to a country school with his brothers, Norman, 13 and Garland, 12. Authorities who investigated said the motorcycle was driven by Calvin Wright, 16, who was also enroute to school. The Van Groven children were walking along the highway at the time, Coroner Charles Boyden said. It was the first motor vehicle death in Allamakee county this year.
