Martha E. Nelson

Martha E. Nelson, 86, of Waterville died Sunday at St. Francis Hospital, LaCrosse.

Services were scheduled for 1 p.m. today at Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church, Waterville. Burial was to be in the church cemetery. Martin Brothers Funeral Home, Waukon, was in charge of arrangements.

She was born April 22, 1900 in Allamakee County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Knut Asleson.

She was married in 1923 to Otto Nelson. Her husband died in 1961. A daughter, Marcella, died in infancy.

Survivors include 4 sons: Orville and Arthur of Waterville, Kenneth of Clinton and Howard of Comanche; 4 daughters: Mrs. Alvina Sickles of Monona, Marjorie Nelson and Mrs. Olive Marohn of Lansing and Mrs. Norma McFadden of Corning, NY. Twelve grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers: Albert Asleson of Waterville and Eilert Asleson, Spring Green, WI, and 3 sisters: Mrs. Gena Rood of Waukon, Mrs. Alice Rood of Decorah and Mrs. Hazel Riek of Lansing.

-Martha was the daughter of Knut and Hattie (Erickson) Asleson
-Martha's children: Olive (Mrs. Merlin Marohn),
Norma (Mrs. Fred McFadden)
-Martha's sibling: Hazel (Mrs. Clem Rieck)
-Preceded in death by: sister, Esther Hermanson
