Georgia L. Glaus
Georgia L. Glaus, 89, of Anamosa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids after a short illness. Memorial services were held Monday, July 6 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, all in Cedar Rapids. Georgia donated her body to the University of Iowa for medical research. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Georgia was born January 16, 1920 in Waukon, the daughter of Hershel and Julia Williams Stone. She married Leslie J. Glaus, and he died in 1991. Georgia enjoyed gardening, fishing, board games, going to the casino and especially time spent with her beloved family. Memorial donations may be given to St. Luke's Hospice.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheryle (Richard) Griffith of Anamosa and Mary Rae (Don) Vinson of Cedar Rapids; three sons, Kenneth (Marilyn) Glaus of Cedar Rapids, Ronald (Paulette) Glaus of Birmingham and Kevin Glaus of Cedar Rapids; and one sister, Rita of Clinton. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Thomas; and 10 brothers and sisters.
