Funeral services for Mrs. Paul Nagel were held Thursday, July 18, 1:30 p.m. in the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, rural Postville. Rev. William Patterson from the First Baptist Church in Waukon, was the officiating pastor. Calvin Bechtel, organist, accompanied the soloist, Barbara Guese. Schutte Funeral Home, Postville, was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, Waukon.
Dorothy Margaret Nagel, daughter of David and Sophia (Hager) Flage, was born February 17, 1910 in Allamakee County, near Waukon, IA. She died Monday night, July 15, 1991 in the Good Samaritan Center, Postville.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Zalmona Presbyterian Church, rural Waukon. She was a graduate of the Waukon High School and attended normal training classes for teachers. She taught in the local schools for a number of years.
On June 3, 1937 she married Paul F. Nagel at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, IA. She lived in the Waukon and Postville areas all of her life, where she assisted her husband in their farming operation. Since September of 1987 she had been a resident of a nursing home.
She was a member of the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. She had also been a member of the Zalmona Presbyterian Church, where she had taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Church Women's Association.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul, who died in 1980, a brother, Lawrence Flage and four sisters, Ada Snitker, Minnie Snitker, Elsie Snitker and Evangeline Flage.
Surviving are a son, Nathan, a daughter, Phyllis (Mrs. Charles Fogt), a granddaughter and two brothers, David Flage and Grant Flage, both of Waukon.
Casket bearers: Dale Kiesau, Steven Kiesau, Calvin Snitker, David Snitker, Duane Leppert and Clifton Christianson.
