CLIFFORD KEITH ELLIS

A memorial service for Clifford Ellis was held Friday, January 27, 1989 at 11:00 a.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home. The Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.

Clifford Keith Ellis, son of John and Carrie (Taylor) Ellis, was born November 30, 1906 in Postville, Iowa. He died Sunday, January 22, 1989 at Palmer Memorial Hospital West Union, IA.

On June 15, 1925 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Mae Schlitter at Rudd, Iowa. They were parents of 3 sons. They made their home in Postville.

Clifford was a blacksmith all his life. He began his career with his father. Later he went into business with his brother Kenneth before finally going into business for himself.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lyle and Roy, one sister, Ruby Crago, and one granddaughter, Darla Ellis Reinhardt.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, three sons, Lyle and his wife Doris of DeWitt, Darwin and his wife Marilyn, and Gary and his wife Diane, all of Postville, six grandchildren, Larry, Mark, Jason, Kevin, Kent, and Randy Ellis, 9 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Kenneth of Postville, and Lloyd "Curly" of Moline, IL, and two sisters, Mrs. Ervin (Naomi) Hull of Diamond City, AK, and Mrs. Frank (Iva) Bruckner of Fort Myers, FL.
