Eric Emery

Eric Emery, a native of Iowa, passed away peacefully at home in Sierra Madre, CA Monday April 29, 2009. Services were held Monday May 4 at St. John's Catholic Church, Gilmore City, with Rev. William Schreiber officiating.

Memorial donations may be made in Eric's name to the City of Hope in Duarte or the Vitas Hospice Charitable Fund, 598 S. Grand Ave., Covina, CA 91724. Harris Funeral Home of Gilmore City is in charge of arrangements.

Eric graduated from the Gilmore City-Bradgate High School in 1977, Ellsworth Community College in 1979, and earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1981. Since 1998 he was the CEO of Bennett Bowen and Lighthouse, Inc., the Western Regional Sales Manager for Sara Lee from 1993-1998, and a Regional Sales Manager for the George A. Hormel Company from 1982-1993.

Eric is survived by his wife, Janet Emery (the daughter of Sandra Roys of Waukon); his sisters, Michelle (Jim) Ault, Maureen Baker, Paula (Bill) Purtzer, and Lisa (Patrick) McLarty; and his nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn Ann Emery, formerly of Gilmore City.
