Louis Burmester, 78, of New Albin, died Thursday, September 27, 1991, at the Lutheran Home in Caledonia, Minnesota.
He was born April 5, 1913, in rural New Albin, to William and Louise (Bisping) Burmester. Prior to living in the Lutheran Home for four years, he worked with road construction at Owatonna, Minnesota, had farmed in the New Albin area, and had also lived in Arlington, Nebraska. He attended rural school in Iowa Township and was a member of St. John’s UCC, Wheatland, rural New Albin.
He is survived by one brother, Elmer of New Albin; and two sisters, Margaret Sievers of Kenyon, Minnesota and Nora Staggemeyer of Eitzen, Minnesota.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 29, at 1:30 p.m. in St. John’s UCC. The Rev. Laura Odegard officiated, and burial was in the church cemetery.
Casket bearers were Stuart Burmester, Lambert Staggemeyer, Kenneth Staggemeyer, Wayne Headington, David Sievers and James Waters.
Haugen-Roble Funeral Home of Caledonia was in charge of arrangements.
