Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 19, for Lloyd Block, 85, who died Monday, July 17, 1995, in Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. The Rev. Charles Miller conducted the 11 a.m. services at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery with Schutte Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Lloyd Heinrick August Block, son of Fred and Meta (Meyer) Block, was born May 9, 1910, near Postville and attended Postville school.

January 8, 1935, he married Wilhelmine "Minnie" Shafer at Caledonia, Minnesota. They lived on their farm in Grand Meadow township. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Gale; and a sister, Mrs. Helmuth (Amanda) Schutte, all of Postville.

Casket bearers were Byron Meyer, Lonnie Hangartner, Roland Meyer, Gerald Heck, Leonard Schutte and Sylvan Taylor.
