Thursday, 3 June 1954Kaeser Funeral Is This Afternoon
The funeral of Dan Kaeser, who was killed by a bull on his farm Tuesday morning was held at 1:30 this Thursday afternoon from Martin's Funeral Home and at 2 o'clock from St. John's Lutheran Church. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. Dr. T.A. Hoff officiated in the absence of the pastor.
Mr. Kaeser was born June 20, 1880 in Makee Township, a quarter mile from the farm which was his home after his marriage. His parents were the late John Kaeser and Harriet Deremore Kaeser.
He was married Dec. 27, 1906 to Emma Nelson, who remains. Their children are Floyd Kaeser of Manitowoc, Wis.; Harold E. Kaeser of Columbus, Ohio; Lester Kaeser of Iowa City; Hazel Hickey and Sylva Feuerhelm of Waterloo. There are 15 grandchildren. Brothers and sisters remaining are Sam and Charles, Waukon; Mrs. Hattie Walton of Russell, Minn.; Mrs. Ruby Rice and Mrs. Sophie Schneider of Waukon. His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. Kaeser spent his early youth on the home farm, and then was in Waterloo and in Montana for a few years. The Makee Ridge home where he died was his home for the remainder of his life. He was educated in the rural schools and Waukon Business College, and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
