Funeral services for Anna G. Putnam were held Wednesday, April 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian church in Postville. The Rev. Dennis E. Morey officiated. Schutte funeral service of Postville was in charge of arrangements, and burial was in the Postville cemetery.
Anna Georgianna Putnam, daughter of Carl and Emilie (Keiser) Bruene, was born August 2, 1893 at Gladbrook. She died April 11 at the Good Samaritan center in Postville.
She graduated from the high school at Gladbrook and was a graduate of Cornell college in the field of home economics. December 28, 1921 she was married to Lloyd Putnam at Gladbrook. They made their home in Postville. Anna was a clerk for many years in the drygoods store, Luhman and Sanders, and then for Kramer's, Huebner's, and Palmquist's. She was an honorary member of UPW, a 50 years member of Eastern Star and a member of P. E. O. Chapter FT of Postville.
Surviving are a brother Wesley Bruene, and two sisters, Amelia Bruene and Ruth Koster, all of Gladbrook. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd in 1967, her parents, two brothers and four sisters.
