Dan J. Ryan Dies At Hospital Here

Funeral services for Daniel J. Ryan, 46, were held at Martin Funeral home and at St. Patrick’s church in Waukon Monday morning, March 14. Mr. Ryan, Allamakee county auctioneer, died Friday, March 11, at the Decorah hospital. He had received care previously at La Crosse and Rochester.

Burial was in Mount Olivet cemetery. Pallbearers were: Sherman Hart, Emmett Sullivan, John McCullough Jr., Eaton Waters, James Curtin and Karl Faldet.

A son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Ryan, he was born at Frankville July 12, 1902, and was reared in that vicinity. On January 4, 1928, his marriage to Mary Mellick took place at St. John the Baptist in Hanover township, Allamakee county.

For a number of years they resided on a farm at the northwest edge of Waukon. About eight years ago Waukon became their home and Mr. Ryan took up the work of an auctioneer and also bought stock.

Besides his widow he is survived by two sons, Daniel and Dale, a brother, Forrest, and three sisters, Mrs. Leo Fitzgerald and Mrs. Alfred Howe, all of this vicinity, and Nora Ryan, Miami, Fla.
