Ole J. Olson Passes On; Funeral Services Today 1872-1940

Funeral services for Ole J. Olson were conducted this afternoon by the Rev. J. Ian Fraser in the Community Presbyterian Church. Earlier services were held in the home of Mr. Olson's sister, Mrs. Olaf Hansen. Burial was in Postville cemetery. Mr. Olson passed away on Monday morning after an illness of long duration. He was 67 years old. Ole J. Olson was born in Post township, Allamakee County, on October 24, 1872, a son of Julius and Elizabeth Gilbertson Olson. With the exception of a few months, he spent his entire life in Post township, residing the greater part of it on the farm north of Postville. Several months ago Mr. Olson moved from his farm to Postville, where he lived with his sister, Mrs. Hansen. In addition to Mrs. Hansen, he is survived by another sister, Mrs. Grant Huey, and a brother, Martin Olson. A third sister, Mrs. Louise McMasters, preceded him in death in 1927. Mr. Olson was baptized in his early life at the West Clermont Lutheran Church, where his parents, both of whom were born in Norway, were members.
