Paul Eugene Sires 1927 - 2009

Paul E. Sires, 81, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, March 8, at his home.

He was born November 19, 1927 in Postville, the son of Floyd L. and Ruth M. (LaVelle) Sires. He married Joy I. Parry on August 22, 1948 in Cedar Falls.

Mr. Sires graduated from Teachers College High School and furthered his education at Iowa State Teachers College. He served in the United States Navy during WWII, and later was a real estate developer, retiring in 1991.

Survivors include his wife, Joy; sons, Dr. Brian (Nancy) and David (Lisa) Sires, of Cedar Falls; daughter, Susan Sires of Louisville, CO; seven grandchildren, Monica (Marc) Pravlik, Jennifer Phillips, Dain, Rae, and Leigh Sires, and Britney and Lindsey Sires; a great-grandson, Nicholas Pravlik; three brothers, Levi (Audrey) and Dean (Linda) Sires, of Waterloo, and Jerry (Nancy) Sires of Dunkerton; and a sister, Norma Knudsvig of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a brother, Vern Sires and a sister, June Wenzel.

Inurnment will occur at a later date in Fairview Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Paul loved his family and will be missed by them and his faithful dog, Milo.
