Suddenly Summoned by Death

Acquaintances of Mrs. John Cunningham were shocked and deeply grieved
to learn of her sudden death at her home in Hanover township, shortly after
the noon hour Monday. While preparing dinner she was overcome and
succumbed shortly by what is believed to have been the bursting of a
blood vessel in the head. She was a woman of the noblest characteristics and
a wide circle of friends and neighbors mourn her death and sympathize deeply
with the grief-stricken family.

Deceased was a native of Ireland and was past 70 years of age. She came to
this country at an early age and for many years had been a resident of the
neighborhood where her death occurred. Her husband died twenty years ago,
survived by a family of thirteen children, namely: Mrs. Joseph Fahey, Mrs. Wm.
Farley, Mrs. Wm. Howes, Celia, Willard, Emmet and James of this vicinity,
George and Joseph at Hurd, N. D., Thomas and Albert at Montrose, S. D., a
member of the Sisterhood in Chicago, and Charles of New York City. Mrs.
James Farley and Thos. O’Brien of Hanover, and Patrick O’Brien of North Dakota
are a sister and brothers of Mrs. Cunningham. The funeral will be held Thursday
from St. Patrick’s church with interment at Mount Olivet cemetery.
