Edward Ryan Died Monday

The death of Edward Joseph Ryan, 82, occurred Monday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. J. McDermett, where he received care the past three years.

A son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ryan sr., he was born January 11, 1865, in Union Prairie township, where he resided for many years. Later he and his wife made their home on the west townline road.

His marriage to Ellen McGeough took place in St. John the Baptist church, West Ridge, in 1893. No children were born to this union, but they adopted a daughter who preceeded him in death. Mrs. Ryan died in February, 1941.

Three sisters and a brother survive, namely: Mrs. Charles Kilpatrick and Mrs. Jos. McAneny, Waukon, Mrs. J. E. Gerrity, Napa, Idaho, and M. H. Ryan of Salem, S.D.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the Bakke & Hanson funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.
