C. Edward Spencer
C. Edward Spencer, 90, 769 W. 4th St., died Friday at 6:10 p.m. at Community Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
He was a retired harness maker for the old Minnesota Harness Factory and later worked for the P. Earl Schwab Co. and for Pfeiffer Nursery. He retired 15 years ago.
Mr. Spencer was born Aug. l, 1876, at Waukon, Iowa to E. K. and Lucy Story Spencer. He married the former Clara Bryant Oct. 3, 1900, at Waukon, lived at Waukon and at Tolley, N.D., and had been in Winona since 1918. He was a member of Central Methodist Church,
Survivors are: One son, G. Bryant Spencer, Montevideo; one daughter, Mrs. Edward (Lucille) Hass, Winona; seven grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. His wife died in 1961 and a daughter died in 1948.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Fawcett Funeral Home. Dr. Edward Martin, Central Methodist Church, is officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
