Waukon, Iowa. Sept. 17—Special:
Mrs Hans Johnson, of this city, died at the Asbury hospital in Minneapolis Tuesday morning following an operation.Her maiden name was Miss Sarah Jane Barthell, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Barthell, pioneer residents of this county. She was born on a farm in Winneshiek county, Oct 25, 1858, later moving with her parents to a farm north of Waukon, where on Aug. 15, 1852, she was married to Albert Faigre, and for a number of years they made their home at Flandreau, S.D., and where her husband died a number of years ago.
On June 7, 1924, she was married at Prairie Du Chien to Hans Johnson, of Waukon, and since she has made her home in Waukon.
Besides her husband she is survived by four children, a daughter, Mrs. Walter Knox, of Oakland, Calif., and three sons, Reuben, J. Barthell, and Leonard Faigre, all of Minneapolis. She also leaves three sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Lou Meier and Mrs. Bert Dickson, of Waukon, Ben of Huron, S.D.; George, Charles and Michael of Waukon, and Mrs. Anna Steinbock (sic) of New Hampton.
