Miss. Alice Becking, 1905-1926

The death of Miss Alice Becking occurred at Grandview Hospital, LaCrosse, March 9th at 8 p.m., after a lingering illness.

Deceased was born in Center township April 9, 1905, and was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Becking of this city. She graduated from the normal course at Columbia College, Dubuque, taught school for a time, and the past two years was in charge of the office at Grandview Hospital.

Besides the parents, she leaves to mourn five sisters and two brothers, Mary, Mrs. J.E. and E.L. Maag of S.D., John at home, Will and Mrs. Leo Rachor of this vicinity, and Sister Gertrude of Iowa City, and her fiancee, Mr. John Wronski of Cleveland, Ohio. All were present at the funeral except Mrs. J.E. Maag, who is a patient at a Watertown, S.D. hospital. and Sister Gertrude at Iowa City. The funeral services were held at 9 o’clock Friday morning from Immaculate Conception church, Msgr. Haxmier celebrating a Requiem Mass, burial in Gethsemane cemetery.

Those from out of town attending were her aunt, Mrs. J.J. Stouckhoff, cousins, Miss Mary Becking of Florence, S.D., Antone Stark, Milwaukee, Wis., and Mr. Jack Wronski, Cleveland, Ohio.

She is not dead this child of our affection, But gone unto that school; Where she no longer needs our poor protection, and Christ himself doth rule.
