Mrs. C. Howlett dies at Britt; Rites Thursday
KANAWHA ---- Mrs. Charles Howlett, 74, died here following a long illness. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church here, preceded by a prayer service at the Hanson Funeral Home. The Rev. C. C. Callahan will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Kanawha.
Born in Allamakee County, Nov. 11, 1886, she was the daughter of Richard and Myra Hamilton Bray. She taught school after being graduated from Kanawha High School. She was married Dec. 18, 1908, and has lived on a farm near Kanawha ever since.
Surviving are her husband, two sons, Howard, Des Moines; Robert, Kanawha; two daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Opal) Ryerson, Britt; Mrs. Fred (Esther) Walk, Kanawha; 17 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two brothers, Clyde Bray, Webster City and Roy Bray, Kanawha. She was preceded in death by a son, Harry.
