John Ralston Rites In Oregon

Funeral services were held Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. from Mercery funeral home in Junction City, Oregon for John Douglass Ralston, former Allamakee county resident. Burial was in a Junction City cemetery.

Mr. Ralston died Oct. 15 at his home in Junction City following a heart attack. He was born Jan. 15, 1904 in Jefferson township of Allamakee county and was a son of George and Mary Douglass Ralston. He farmed in Allamakee county and 26 years ago moved to California, later moving to Oregon.

In June of 1926 he married Jessie Brooks in the United Brethren Church, Forest Mills. She survives, as do three daughters, Mrs. Joe (Carol) O'Hare, Junction City; Mrs. Maurice (Catherine) Trusler, Monroe, Oregon; Mrs. Roy (Shelby) Stetter, San Antonio, Tex. and a son John of Albarny, Ore. Fourteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers, Earl of Waukon and David of Hawthorne, Calif. and six sisters, Mrs. Ruth Johnson and Mrs. Ed Wedo, Waukon; Mrs. Charles Sass, Postville; Mrs. Jessie Stocker, Vasalia, Calif.; Mrs. Marie Tomlinson, Baldwin Park, Calif., and Mrs. Florence Brandos, of Los Angeles, Calif.

Mr. Ralston was educated in rural school in Jefferson township and was employed as a factory worker after leaving Waukon.

Earl Ralston attended the funeral in Junction City.

Ben Vegors officiating, Music and Singing by Merrill Womack, Interment at Rest-Lawn Memorial Park in Junction City, Oregon. Funeral conducted by Kenneth L. Murphy, Murphy Funeral Homes, Junction City, Oregon.
