Anemia Is Fatal to G. H. Leppert
French Creek Township Farmer Dies Friday at Home After Illness of Only Week
George H. Leppert passed away Friday evening, January 25th, at his home in French Creek township, after a week’s illness. His death was due to asthma and anemia.
George H. Leppert, who was the son of Charles and Elizabeth Leppert, was born May 11, 1883. He was educated in the rural schools of French Creek township, and later attended Waukon Business College and Charles Cith College.
On September 22, 1909, he was married to Mattie Nora Bakewell. To them were born four children, Reuben, Luella, Maynard, and Dorothy. Mrs. Leppert passed away March 13, 1927.
Mr. Leppert was a highly respected and life-long resident of the French Creek community. He was a member of French Creek M.E. church and served as superintendent of the French Creek Sunday School for many years. His death is mourned by many friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his four children, Reuben, Maynard, and Dorothy at home and Mrs. William Bieber of Waukon and his brother Charles also of French Creek.
Funeral services were held at the Leppert home and at the French Creek church. Reverend Howard H. Palmer conducted the services. Burial was made at Oak Hill cemetery at Lansing. The pallbearers were U. J. Ashbacher, Harold Ashbacher, Floyd Wild, Wilbur Leppert, John Munz, and Harvey Ebner.
