Chas. Leppert Dies in Dubuque

French Creek Township Man Passes Saturday after 3 weeks illness

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Martin Funeral Home in Waukon for Charles F. Leppert, 57, of French Creek, who passed away Saturday at the Sunnycrest Sanatarium in Dubuque where he had been a patient the past three weeks. Death was attributed to a kidney infection.

Mr. Leppert was born in French Creek township, January 17, 1885, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Leppert. He received his education in the rural schools and later attended the Charles City college. He was never married. He had made his home for some time with his two nephews, Maynard and Rueban Leppert, French Creek township farmers. He is also survived by an aunt, Mrs. Hannah Ashbacher of French Creek, and an uncle, Gotlieb H. Munz of Dubuque and a niece, Mrs. W.P. Bieber, living east of Waukon. A brother, George Leppert, preceded him in death six years ago.

Mr. Leppert for years was a director at large of the French Creek township school. He was a member of the Methodist church at French Creek from where funeral services were held at 2:00 o’clock with the Reverend R. Park Anderson officiating. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.

Pallbearers were cousins of Mr. Leppert. They were Harold Ashbacher, Walter and Harvey Ebner, Theodore Munz, Milton Ashbacher, and Dewey Leppert.
