The life of Edward L. Geno, aged 79, came to a close last Wednesday morning, due to the infirmities of age.

His death occured at the home of his son Hugo, residing in the apartment over the Lee cafe.

He was born in New York state October 11, 1856, and had been a resident of Allamakee county since 1901. His wife was formerly Miss Carrie Willard who preceded him in death on March 2,1932. Two of their five sons,George and Herbert, have also died and the surviving members of the family are Mrs. C.H. Christianson, wife of a railway mail clerk at Des Moines, Harry of Mason City, Joseph, farmer near Luana, and Hugo of Waukon. There are also seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The children were all present at the funeral except Joseph who is reported to be in a hospital at Iowa City.

The Rev.R.L. Van Nice conducted the services which were held Friday at Martin Bros. funeral chapel at 10:30 a.m., followed by burial in Oakland cemetery.
