Miss Emma Ebner was born near Church, Iowa, Aug 23, 1883, and baptized Jan. 26, 1884, by Rev. C. F. Tramm. Her religious training, in principle and faith, she received in the Methodist Episcopal Church. Here she learned to love her Master in his redemptive power to save her soul. It was always her desire to practice and live the golden rule.

Miss Ebner received her education in the local public schools and other institutions of higher learning. After completing the prescribed course she entered the teaching profession for eighteen years in the public schools in the vicinity and surrounding territory.. For a number of years she was also Deputy School Supt. Of Cando, N. D. It was her delight to instruct and mingle with the young people.

About three and one-half years ago, in January, 1929, the deceased, after the sudden passing to the beyond of her parents, became afflicted with a disease which she never was able to overcome. Finally, when the disease accomplished its purpose, the Reaper of souls came and separated her body from that which is his, permittiing the body to be returned to the earth of which the poet so beautifully speaks:

Unveil thy bosom, faithful tomb;
Take this new treasure to thy trust,
And give these sacred relics room,
A while to slumber in the dust.
Nor pain, nor grief, nor anxious fear
Invade the bounds; no mortal woes
Can reach the peaceful sleeper here,
While angels watch the soft repose.

The deceased leaves to mourn: Two sisters and three brothers, namely, Mrs. Ida Wilde, Mrs. Herman Gelo, Walter and Harvey, all of Church, Iowa; and Frank of Wabasha, Minn., besides many other relatives and friends. May her soul rest in peace.

The funeral services were held at the home and the French Creek Methodist Episcopal church Wednesday morning with the Rev. A. C. Prust officiating, using as the basis of his text 1 Sam. 20:3. Interment was made in the family lot on Mays Prairie near Church, Ia.
