Samuel Decker Rites Saturday

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 30 at 2 p.m. from Lansing Ridge Presbyterian Church for Samuel Decker, 91 of Waukon. The Rev. J. Leslie Leonard officated and burial was in Oak Hill cemetery. Burke funeral home was in charge of arrangements. Robert Smith, Alfred Hirth, Herbert Hirth, Kenneth Steiber, Dan Brady and Delbert Russell were pallbearers.

Mr. Decker, who was a carpenter and stone mason until he retired, was born March 12, 1875 in French Creek township and was a son of John and Mary Eichhorn Decker. He married Anna Bechtel, who preceded him in death. He lived in Churchtown until three years ago when he moved to Waukon. Surviving is a brother John of Lansing.
