Mrs. Edward Gramlich funeral Held Tuesday
Following an illness of several months, Mrs. Edward Gramlich passed away at her home on Mays Prairie early Saturday morning. She was born at Lansing Feb. 9th, 1899, as Evelyn Schafer, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schafer. Following her graduation from high school here with the class of 1917 she attended Upper Iowa University at Fayette and then taught school in the rural communities hereabouts for several terms. On March 16th, 1921 she was married to Edward Gramlich who survivies as do their two sons, Merlyn and Curtis. Other immediate survivors include her mother, Mrs. Ida Schafer, and one granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Clarence.
Funeral services were held from the Burke Funeral Chapel to the Evangelical United Brethren Church yesterday afternoon with the Rev. D. H. Iles, resident pastor, officiating. She was an active member of the church and its societies while her health permitted, devoted to her family and home and held in high esteem by all who knew her. Soloists at the church services were Mrs. H. A. McKinney and Mrs. C. Feuerhelm, accompained by organist Mrs. C. V. Shofield. Casket bearers were Ed Schultz, Herb Feuerhelm, Leonard Dee, Ralph Jenkins, Ray Steiber and Vernon Peters and burial was made in the family lot in Oak Hill Cemetery. Flower arrangements at the church were in charge of Mrs. Frank May and Mrs. Edward Schultz.
Among the out of town relatives and friends attending the services from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Dietel and daughter, Mrs. Floyd Robertson and husband, of Sumner; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fritz, Edgewood; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bakewell, Fargo, N. D.; Atty and Mrs. Grant Bakewell, Kalispel, Mont.
