March 24, 1915 p. 2----The remains of Mrs. Sarah Rowe arrived Saturday from Brownlee, Sask., Canada, where she had been making her home of late, and the funeral took place Sunday afternoon from the W.J. Barnes home in South Lansing, Rev. Sires of the M.E. church officiating. We are without particulars for a suitable obituary this week.

Mrs. Sarah Stauffacher was born in Cambridgeshire, Old England, on August 31st, 1842, and died in Brownlee, Sask., Canada, on March 16th, 1915, aged 72 years, 6 months and 15 days. She was the mother of eight children, all of whom preceded her in death excepting one daughter, Mrs. Wm. Howard, of Canada, with whom she spent the last six years of her life. She is survived by sixteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
The remains arrived on the 20th inst and were taken to the home of a niece, Mrs. W. J. Barnes, in South Lansing, from where the funeral took place next day, Rev. Roscoe Sires of the M.E. church officiating, and interment being made in Oak Hill cemetery.
The surviving relatives desire us to return thanks to the old neighbors and friends for acts of kindness and expressions of sympathy shown them during the time of the funeral.
Note: Sarah Stevens was a widow, with two children, Harry and Susan. She married William Rowe, son of Mary Dann Rowe and John Rowe. He died in 1880. Mrs. W. J. Barnes was her sister-in-law, being the sister of William Rowe.
