Sleep, dear father! Thy toils and pains are o’er,
Sleep till the great judgment morn,
That land without a storm.
Kind friends have bowed around thee,
And closed thine eyes to death;
While loved ones stood beside thee
And watched thy quickening breath,
But now thou are gone forever,
Thy voice no more we’ll hear,
Can we forget thee? Never!
We’ll think thee ever near,
We bid thee farewell, now, father;
But soon will follow thee;
We’ll meet thee at the judgment,
For that is God’s decree.

In loving remembrance, by his daughter,

Mrs. W. F. Hann.
