Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 1:15 o'clock at the Community Presbyterian church for Henry W. Meier, 77, who passed away at his home here Thursday. Rev. Walter T. Martin conducted the rites. Burial was at Minert cemetery.

Henry W. Meier, son of Ludwig and Charlotte Meier, was born June 12, 1873 near Garnavillo. He passed away at his home in Postville Thursday, August 24, 1950 as the result of a heart ailment.

He was married to Millie Laughlin on December 8, 1896 at Postville. To this union five children were born all of whom survive. They are Mrs. Ralph Green and Mrs. Milo Folsom, both of Postville, Mrs. Carl Schultz of Luana, Mrs. E.A. Sanvik of Harmony, Minnesota, Mrs. George Fenton of West Union. Mr. Meier is also survived by a brother, C.F. Meier of Postville and two sisters Mrs. George Hein and Mrs. William Hein of Valparaiso, Indiana, 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Mrs. H.W. Meier passed away February 13, 1950.

Henry Meier spent his life farming in Clayton and Allamakee counties. He retired 11 years ago and moved to Postville.
