Carol F. Weber, age 67, of New Albin died Thursday morning, March 27, 2008 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI following a short, courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services were held Monday, March 31 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Albin with Fr. Daniel Knipper officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery in New Albin. The Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing is assisting the family.
Carol was born in New Albin July 11, 1940 to Melvin "Dag' and Ann Mildred "Millie' (Henry) Darling. She graduated from New Albin High School in 1958. Carol married the love of her life, Don Weber, July 26, 1958 at St. Joseph Church in New Albin. She and her husband owned and operated Weber Construction. She loved to cook, bake, shop, and always had a cup of coffee for anyone that stopped to visit. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Carol is survived by seven children, Debbie (Terry) Utke of Waukon, Mary (Anton) Kidess of Eau Claire, WI, Teri Moore (friend Jason Wenthold) of Lansing, Connie (Mike) Mauss of LaCrescent, MN, Neal (Mary) Weber of New Albin, Todd Weber of New Albin, and Jennifer (Damon) Olson of New Albin; 24 very special grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and six siblings, John "Jack' (Pat) Darling of La Crosse, WI, Alvin "Bunk' (Vera) Darling of New Albin, Rita (Larry) Lager of Las Vegas, NV, Gerald "Jug' (Karen) Darling of New Albin, Mary (Leland) Lankford of New Albin, and Kathy (Lyle) Goetzinger of New Albin.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald, May 17, 2007; a grandson, Creed Moore; and a brother, Ricardo "Rick' Darling.
