William Reddy

William Patrick Reddy, 92, of Chicago, IL, and formerly of Waukon, died March 12 at Holy Cross Hospital in Chicago. Funeral mass was held March 16 at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Waukon, under the direction of Father Ed Lechtenberg. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon.

"Bill" Reddy was born Jan. 12, 1908 in Postville. His parents were Patrick and Eva (Beall) Reddy. He graduated from Waukon Senior High School in 1926 and attended Waukon Junior College. He married Helen M. Feuerhelm April 27, 1938, at St Patrick's in Waukon. The couple has lived in Chicago since 1943, where Bill was a supervisor for Chicago Breweries. He belonged to St. Gall's Catholic Church of Chicago. He was a medal winner at the Drake relays. He was also a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Cecelia O'Donnell. Survivors include his wife, Helen; daughters Karen (the late Ronald) Kostecka and Patricia (Marvin) Rogers; grandchildren Ronald, Donald, Richard (Monika) Kostecka, and Deborah (the late Michael) Rogers; great grandchildren William and Gerard Kostecka and Krystal and Michael Rogers; and sisters Mary (the late Garland) Byrnes, Catherine (the late Lawrence) Byrnes, and Margaret (the late Mike) Glasser.

Pallbearers were Jim Campbell, Wilbur Rose and Roger, Dennis, Pat, Ed, Lewis and Matt Byrnes.

Hanson Funeral Home of Waukon assisted the family.
