Ronald Van Brocklin

Ronald James Van Brocklin, age 42, of Lansing died February 13, 2008. Memorial services followed by a reception were held Saturday, February 16 at Kerndt Brothers Community Center in Lansing.

Ronald was born in LaCrosse, WI August 23, 1965 to Robert and Kathryn (Strub) Van Brocklin. He graduated from Kee High in 1983. He married Gina Mohn September 30, 1989 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Over the years, he had worked at the IGA in Lansing and LaCrescent, MN prior to working at Alliant Power Plant in Lansing as an Assistant Operator.

Ron loved to spend most of his spare time in the woods on his Dad's land hunting with his family. He and his family spent summer vacations camping at Jellystone in Warrens, WI. As a NACAR fan, he had been to several races in Bristol, TN. He also enjoyed attending Packer games with his family. Ron loved to play guitar with his nephews and enjoyed letting his nieces and nephews play with his guitar.

He is survived by wife, Gina Van Brocklin of Lansing; two children, Amanda Kathryn and Alex James Van Brocklin of Lansing; his dogs, Daisy and Katie; his parents, Bob and Kathryn Van Brocklin of Lansing; his maternal grandmother, Edna Strub of Caledonia, MN; five siblings, Laurie (Bill) Moore of Lansing and their children Reece and Cory of Osage, Diane (Dennis) Johnson and their children Brandon, Derek and Rachel of LaCrescent, MN, Daryl Van Brocklin of Lakeville, MN, Craig (Paula) Van Brocklin and their children Megan and Jacob of Story City, and Eric (Ann) Van Brocklin and their children Grace, Laura, and Samuel of Bloomington, MN; and his in-laws, Cyril (Patty) Mohn of Lansing and Dina Mohn of Tahlequah, OK; Julie Harms and her children Emily and Tyler of Des Moines, Jenifer (Carl) Colsch and their children Allison, Laura, and Chance of New Albin, Clint (Noelle) Mohn and their children Mallory and Mason of Lansing, Janell (Mike) Peterson and their children Jameson, Dylan, and Hunter of Lansing, Andy (Dana) Mohn of Holmen, WI, and Chubby Mohn of Lansing.

Ronald was preceded in death by his brother, Kenny Van Brocklin; his paternal grandparents, Dwight and Bessie Van Brocklin; his maternal grandfather, Vincent Strub; and infant brother-in-law, Tommy Mohn; and his dog Molly.

The Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing assisted the family.
