Edward "Dayne" Walker, 69, of Spring Grove, MN passed away Friday, December 14, 2007 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. He was born October 31, 1938 in Illinois to Dayne Thomas and Dorothy Mildred (Shaw) Walker.

Edward Dayne graduated from High School in Newton, IL, and served in the U.S. Air Force for over nine years. He was then employed at IBM in Rochester, MN for 28 years and retired in 1991 to enjoy various hobbies and activities. Edward Dayne used his skills and interests in personal computing and electronics to help others to learn and assisted many in resolving problems. He enjoyed reading, working on family histories and being involved in community service projects. He is a long time member of the American Legion and Spring Grove Commercial Club.

He is survived by his wife Mary (Troendle) Walker of Spring Grove, MN; two sons, David (Darleen Christianson) Walker of Byron, MN, Brent Walker of St. Peter, MN (and their mother Mary (Helps) MacGregor of Mankato, MN); two brothers, Bill (Pat) Walker of Homewood, IL and Robert (Shirley) Walker of Mesa, AZ; three sisters, Wilma Brady of Effingham, IL, Sandy Beckman of Decatur, IL and Thelma (Harold) Kibler of Newton, IL; two grandchildren, Thomas Walker and Cassandra Walker and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.

Funeral services were held at 11 am, Monday, December 17, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Caledonia, MN. Father Gregory Leif officiated and private family interment of his ashes will be at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia, MN. McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia, MN is assisting the family with arrangements.
