Henrietta Dull

Henrietta Dull passed away Sunday, January 27, 2008 in the Gundersen Lutheran Health Center at LaCrosse, WI at the age of 75 years, 10 months, and three days. Funeral services for Henrietta Dull were held Thursday, January 31 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, with the Reverend Steve Brackett officiating.

Casketbearers were Carter Dull, Torrie Moses, Josh Phillips, Steve Pape, Dan Pape, Kenneth Meyer, Ron Marovets, and honorary casketbearers were Junior and Priscilla Miene, Don and Darlene Gilster, Bill and Judy Egeland, and John and Judy Hyman. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery. The Schutte Funeral and Cremation Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements.

Henrietta Leanna (Pape) Dull was born March 24, 1932 near Eldorado to Grant and Martha Amelia (Pape) Pape. She was baptized April 24, 1932 by the Reverend Foege at the Lutheran Church in Eldorado and confirmed May 20, 1945 by the Reverend R. C. Schlueter at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona. Henrietta attended the Franklin Township School No. 4 through the eighth grade and graduated from Luana High School. Following graduation, Henrietta worked at the Schultz Grocery Store in Luana.

Henrietta was married to Robert Wymore Dull October 3, 1951 at the Lutheran Parsonage in Monona by the Reverend R. C. Schlueter. To this union three sons were born. She worked at Gordon's Bakery in Monona for a short time. Besides raising her own family, Henrietta helped her parents on the farm with the lawn and yard work. She took great pride in the vegetable and flower gardens, showcasing them for all who passed by to see. She had also been employed at the Pines Motel and the Good Samaritan Center.

Henrietta enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls, Beanie Babies, bells and cats. She liked listening to bluegrass and polka music, attending festivals and an occasional trip to the local casinos. Henrietta was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville and the Women of the ELCA.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; three sons, Stan (Dawn) Dull of Monona, Dave (Donna) Dull of Postville, and Brad (Jodi) Dull of Cresco; seven grandchildren, Jessie (Torrie) Moses, Jen Dull, Allison (Josh) Phillips, Ashley Dull, Angie Dull, Carter Dull, and Hailey Dull; five great grandchildren, Alexis Welsh, Colin and Cody Moses, and Liberty and Kyla Phillips; and three sisters-in-law, Marilyn Pape of Luana, Bunnie Nevermann of Monona, and Susann Little of Yankton, SD.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Grant and Martha; and four brothers, Gaylord Pape, Gerald Pape, Lyle Pape, and Lorenz Pape.
