Sankey Van Gorder Died
Sankey Van Gorder, 88, died Sunday evening, Dec. 25, at the Postville Hospital. He is survived by his wife and five children.
Services were held Wednesday, Dec. 28, from Muehlethaler Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Peterson officiating. Burial was in the Waukon cemetery.
The obituary will be published next week.

Sankey George Van Gorder was born near Hardin, Iowa, on January 29, 1878, and died at the Postville hospital December 25, 1966, at the age of 88. The deceased was the son of Lexi Dexter Van Gorder and Susan Cox. He lived in the Waukon vicinity except for ten years at Minneapolis and the past six years at Clermont.
survivors include his wife Amber and five children, Milton, Independence, Leslie, Waterloo, Ida Mae (Mrs. Wilbur Schultz), Elkader, Grace (Mrs. Albert Erickson), Farmersburg, and Robert, Evansdale. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 15 brothers and sisters, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, December 28, at the Muehlethaler Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Roger Peterson officiating. Interment was in the Waukon cemetery. Casket bearers were Charles Erickson, Russell Belden, Harlan Heins, Tommy Van Gorder, Alton Evanson and Gene Kuehl.
