Michael C. Schulte, 52, of Waukon died December 30, 2007 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services were held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon Wednesday, January 2, with Father Joseph Schneider officiating. Burial was in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Dorchester. Funeral arrangements were handled by Hanson Funeral Home in Waukon.

Michael C. Schulte was born April 27, 1955 to Cletus and Phyliss (Ryan) Schulte in Waukon. After high school graduation and two years of college, he served in the U.S. Army from May of 1976 until December of 1977.

In September of 1979, he married Jane Grotegut in Waukon. He married his second wife, Diane Monroe, in November of 1986 in Postville.

Michael worked in road construction and as a milk truck driver. He enjoyed spending time with his two grandchildren and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus and Phyliss Schulte.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Schulte of Waukon; his children, Beth, Reggie, Charlene and Carsey, all of Waukon; five brothers and sisters, Ann Monnans of Brooking, SD, Peggy Hennessy of Waukon, Jane Schulte of Olathe, KS, Tony Schulte of Spring Grove, MN, and Dr. Ray Schulte of Taipei, Taiwan; and two grandchildren, Connor and Kerryn Weipert.

Honorary casket bearers were Reggie Schulte, Paul Meier, Dale Herman, Corey Schulte, and Donald Smerud.
