MARGARET RONAN

Margaret Ronan, 94, of Waukon, died Dec. 13, 2000 at Northgate Care Center in Waukon.
Funeral services were held Fri., Dec. 15 at St. Mary's Lycurgus Catholic Church. Msgr. Lechtenberg and Father Knipper presided over the service. Burial was in St. Mary's Lycurgus Cemetery.

Margaret "Peg" Ronan was born Oct. 23, 1906 in Wexford, the daughter of John Murphy and Mary Ellen Thornton. She attended school through the eighth grade. On Oct. 31, 1936 she married James Ronan in Chicago, IL. During her lifetime, she was a resident of Wexford, Chicago and Waukon. She worked as a cleaning person.

Surviving her are her children, Dennis (Betty) Ronan, Waukon, and Richard (Lois) Ronan of Waukesha, WI; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two special nieces, Evelyn Burke and Rita Dougherty.

Preceding her in death are her husband, James; an infant daughter; seven brothers, Donald, John, Cyril, Ray, Frank, Joe, and William Murphy; and two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Marie) Ryan and Mrs. George (Irene) Mettille.

Casketbearers were Rodney Ronan, Raymond Ronan, James Ronan, Ricky Ronan, Brandon Ronan, and Scott Dougherty.

Hanson Funeral Home of Waukon assisted the family.
