Services For D. Thornton Held

Funeral services for Dorothy L. Thornton were held Monday February 21, 1983 at 1:30 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville. The Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Dorothy L. Thornton, daughter of Max and Lillian (Thoma) Fox, was born August 21, 1919 at Postville, Iowa. She passed away February 17, 1983 at Monona, Iowa.

She was baptized on November 18, 1919 and confirmed May 16, 1937, both at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, and graduated from Postville High School. For a time she lived in Postville, then moved to Oelwein where she has lived for the past 27 years.

She is preceded in death by her mother and a son in infancy. Surviving are two sons, Robert W. Harris, Jr. of Postville and Ronald Thornton of Monona, a daughter, Peggy Berg of Waukon, eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
