Rites Are Held For Mrs. M. Thuerk

Mrs. Margaret Thuerk, nee Margaret Katherine Schneider, the daughter of John Schneider and Ann Kaster Schneider, was born at Postville, on September 24, 1874. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church at an early age. She died at the Community Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness, on November 5, 1968 at the age of 89 years, one month and 12 days.

She was married to Max Thuerk. To this union was born one son.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers: John, Charles and Henry Schneider; two sisters: Mrs. Anna Kahle and Mrs. Elizabeth Sams.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Leo Thuerk of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two sisters, Kathryn, Mrs. John Lambert of Postville and Gussa, Mrs. Vernon Kelly of Red Wing, Minnesota; and two granddaughters.

Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Postville on Friday, November 8, at 1:30 p.m. Burial was in the Postville cemetery with The Rev. Charles E. Witt officiating.
