Connie Jean Thornton

Funeral services for Connie Jean Thornton, 21, were held at the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville Saturday, November 28, at 10:30 a.m. Rev Terrance Hennesy officiated and interment was in the Postville Cemetery.

Miss Thornton died at her home on Wednesday, November 25, 1987. She was born April 19, 1966 in Postville, daughter of Curtis and Cheryl Thornton. She was baptized Sept. 18, 1966 and confirmed May 20, 1981. She graduated from Postville High School in 1984 and attended Surgical Technician School in Marshalltown, graduating from there in 1985. She was employed for 2 years at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, as a surgical technician. On October 1, she began working at the Postville Chiropractic Clinic.

Survivors include her parents, Curtis and Cheryl Thornton, a sister, Brenda Kerr and her husband David of Turlock, CA, her grandparents, Willard and Esther Snitker of Postville.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vern and Blanche Thornton.

Pallbearers were Rick and Butch Thornton, Dan Klahn, Vince Peterson, Larry and Gary Brockway. Honorary pallbearers were: Sheila Burgin, Kathy Johanningmeier, Diane Seitz and Brenda Pfister.
