Memorial Services For Paul H. Topel

Memorial services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 16, in the Wayside Chapel of the First United Methodist church, Mason City, for Paul H. Topel, former Postville resident, who died June 14 in a Mason City hospital. The Rev. Lyle Lieder officiated. The body was donated to the University of Iowa College of Medicine. The Major-Erickson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Paul H. Topel, son of Mathilda (Kamin) Topel and Paul E. Topel, was born July 3, 1915 in Postville. He married Vivian M. Welsch January 13, 1934 at Northwood. He was a member of the First United Methodist church, Mason City.

Mr. Topel farmed near Frankville until 1950 when he moved to Decorah. After residing in several other cities he moved to Mason City in 1958. He was an agent for the All American Life & Casualty Co. until retiring in 1969 due to ill health.

Mr. Topel is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Davis, Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Pamela Piper and Mrs. Constance Bahl, Mason City; a son Ronald P., Phoenix, Arizona; nine grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Rose Beall, Wyoming, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
