JOHN WATERS
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 7, at St. Bridget's Church in Postville for John D. Waters, 22, who passed away July 5 as a result of electrocution while sanding his car at his farm home near Postville. The Rev. F. J. Vallaster, pastor of St. Bridget's officiated and was assisted by the Rev. John Sullivan of St. Peter's in Clermont. Burial was in the Postville cemetery.
John Dennis Waters was born March 4, 1940, the son of Clem and Berniece Eberling Waters. He was baptized May 5, 1940 at St. Bridget's Church.
He graduated in 1958 from Postville high school. He assisted his father in farming for two years before entering Iowa State University of Ames, majoring in dairy science. He was presently active in the Postville Drum and Bugle Corps, Cyclone Club, Newman Club, and Phi Kappa Tau fraternity.
He is survived by his parents; one brother, William, of Fraser, Michigan; two sisters, Eva Kermgard of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Joy at home; seven nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
