Services Held For Ed. Thoma

Eddy C. F. Thoma, the son of William Thoma and Sophia Gruenwald Thoma, was born on November 23, 1887 in Postville. He was baptized in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville on March 25, 1888 and confirmed on March 31, 1901. He died at the Community Memorial Hospital on November 3, 1962 at the age of 74 years, 11 months and 11 days, following a brief illness.

He lived in the Postville area all of his life. He was employed as a star route mail hauler for a number of years, and also was employed as a service station operator.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Fred of Milwaukee, Conrad of Minneapolis and Louis of Postville; and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Gordon of Postville and Louise of Postville.

He is survived by one brother, John of Waukon, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville on November 5, 1962 at 2:30, with the Rev. Charles E. Witt, pastor of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville, officiating. Burial was in the Postville cemetery.
