Funeral services were held Friday at 1:30 from the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville for Mrs. Frank (Jennie) Wickham who died Tuesday, July 9 at Community Memorial Hospital. Rev. Hollingworth of Waterloo officiated. Burial was in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hawkeye.
Born a twin in June, 1888, in Fayette County, the daughter of Henry and Hattie (Finch) Nims, she grew up north of Hawkeye and attended rural school.
In 1907 she married Frank Wickham and they lived most of their early life around Hawkeye engaged in farming. Around 1930 they moved to a farm near Clermont, retiring from farming in the late thirties.
Around 1940 they moved to Postville where Mr. Wickham was employed by Hall Roberts Son. Following his death in 1963, Mrs. Wickham went to live with a daughter. She had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in Postville, since September, 1973.
Survivors include two sons, Fay of Rockford, Iowa and Billie of Tama; two daughters, Mrs. Eben (Ruby) Pierce of Fredericksburg and Mrs. Florence Leibold of Waterloo and a sister, Mrs. Ruby Wolf of Des Moines. There are also 17 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank and four children, Clarence, Clifford, Earl and Edna.
