Lawson Funeral At Rossville
Jean C. Lawson, 56, rural Monona, died at his farm home Wednesday, May 18. He was the son of Ellwood and Caroline Livingood Lawson and was born May 13, 1921 in Allamakee county. He was educated in the local schools and was a farmer.
He married Phyllis Gast in Decorah March 17, 1947. She survives with his mother; two sons, Walter of Ankeny and Wesley of rural Monona; a sister, Mrs. Howard (Betty) Hansmeier of Waterloo; three brothers, Allen of Holmen, WI, Earl (Jim) of Caledonia, MN and Howard of Waukon, and four grandchildren.
He was a veteran of World War II.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 20 at 1:30 p.m. in Rossville Presbyterian church with the Rev. Roger Hawthorne officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill cemetery and pallbearers were Frank Unertl, Clifford Livingood, Ralph Campbell, Wayne Falck, Darrell Mitchell and Vernon Melcher.
Martin funeral home, Waukon, was in charge of arrangements.
