Harold Lawson, son of Henry and Anna Lawson, was born April 4, 1902 at Postville, and passed away at his home in McGregor, July 18, 1957.
He received his early education in the rural schools of Post township and lived his entire life around Postville and McGregor. He was united in marriage to Lillian Dundee, who preceded him in death. To this union was born one daughter, Marjorie, Mrs. John Johnson, of Waterville.
He was later married to Verla Seybert of Postville, on October 27, 1928. To this union was born seven sons, Milton, in the service at Fort Sheridan, Illinois; Charles, of Omaha, Nebraska; William, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Gaylord, in the service stationed at the Philippine Islands; Darrell, who preceded his father in death in 1943; also Bobby and Michael at home. He leaves to mourn his passing his father, Henry Lawson, of Waukon; one brother, Elwood, of La Crescent, Minnesota; one sister, Mrs. John Dundee of Waukon; eight grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Harold was engaged in construction work with his father for many years until his health failed him. For the past several years he had been confined to his home where he was cared for by his wife and children.
Services were from the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville with the Rev. Curtis H. Webster of the Forest Mills E. U. B. church and the Rev. Leon Wallace of the Methodist church of McGregor officiating. Burial was made in Postville cemetery.
