William H. Lawson Dies In Oklahoma
Funeral services for William Henry Lawson were held Tuesday, April 13, 1971 at 2:30 p.m. in Gish Memorial Chapel, Frederick, Oklahoma, with the Rev. Vernon Floyd, pastor of Bible Baptist Church officiating. Interment was in the Frederick cemetery, Frederick, Oklahoma.
William Henry Lawson was born in Postville, August 6, 1893, the son of James Alexander and Amanda White Lawson. He died in Tillman County Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Oklahoma, April 12, 1971 following a prolonged illness.
Mr. Lawson moved to Tillman County, Oklahoma in 1906. He was a retired farmer and salvage yard operator and lived on a farm north of Frederick at the time of his death.
He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and the American Legion. He served during World War I and was recently awarded a 50 year pin by the American Legion.
He was united in marriage to Minnie Christine Mehl, September 8, 1917 in Frederick. She survives him at home. Other survivors include two sons, William Henry Jr. and Carl Lawson and one daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Vera) Brown all of Frederick; sisters, Mrs. Coral Vanderzee and Mrs. Crystal Thrash, both of Frederick and Mrs. Orville (Flora Bell) Brown of Anaheim, California. There are four grandchildren.
