Joan Ann Metzdorff, age 76, of Vandalia, IL died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007 in West Memphis, AR. A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Father Delix Michel, was held Monday, March 5 at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, IL.

Joan was born February 15, 1931 in La Crosse, WI to Vernon and Gertrude (Ghelf) Darling. She married Henry Metzdorff March 12, 1947 in New Albin. She worked as an accountant for Eureka Williams Vacuum Cleaner Co. and was a member of the Mother of Dolors Catholic Church in Vandalia, IL.

Joan is survived by her husband, Henry Metzdorff of Vandalia, IL; her son, Jerry Metzdorff and his wife Barbara of Shobonier, IL; her daughter, Jill Jones of Vandalia, IL; her brother, Brent Darling of Lansing; her sister, Lorna Smerud of La Crosse, WI; her grandchildren, Paul Metzdorff and David Hubner; step granddaughters Lisa Pryor, Margie Daniels and DeAnn Martin; two great-grandchildren; and 12 step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Anthony Metzdorff.
