SUDDEN DEATH OF AN ESTIMABLE LADY

One of the saddest deaths that we have ever been called upon to chronicle is that of Mrs. L. Hirth of this township, which took place early yesterday morning after a brief but painful illness. Deceased was in her usual health until a few days ago, having returned from a visit to Dubuque on Thursday morning last. She became indisposed Saturday, and alarmingly ill Sunday, and not with standing everything that medical skill and loving care could do to save the precious life, it was not to be and death claimed her as his own.

The family had moved into a new house, one of the finest modern country homes in the county, just a week before and had invitations out for a grand housewarming on the 29th inst. Truly, man proposes but the Lord disposes, and in the midst of life we are in death. How inscrutable are His ways and " Tis not in man to yield a reason for the will of Heaven."

Emma Wild was born and reared in French Creek township, being the eldest daughter of George Wild. She is about forty-two years of age and besides the sorrow-stricken husband and six children, two boys and four girls, is survived by her parents and a number of brothers and sisters, all of whom have the deepest sympathy of many friends in their sore affliction.

The funeral takes place at the Methodist church on Mays Prairie tomorrow afternoon, leaving the house at 1 o'clock, Rev. Panzlau officiating.
